PUNCHING THE BIG ONE (TECHNIQUE) 04 MARCH 2008

.....This is attempting to drive your bow down with lots of speed to catch the under current and pull you through. Paddle as fast as possible and as you get within a meter of the hole take a hard stroke and throw your weight forward. You want to use a diagonal here to get some speed in the water.....

1st full descent of Dante’s Inferno (Gradient: dropping 85ft in 65ft) 7 January 2008

The Elands River is a small tributary to the Crocodile River and does not boast world class whitewater; save for one stretch that is about 50m long. In those 50m the river drops roughly 30m and I would argue it to be one of the best sections of whitewater in the entire country.
